Catalog description

This course is designed to provide Health and Physical Education Teacher Certification students with the foundational knowledge needed for teaching water safety curriculum in K-12 public schools. In this course, students will a) engage in a developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessments, b) experience best instructional practices, and c) utilize pedagogical content knowledge to plan and implement teaching different segments within a water safety educational lesson. Activities will include swim skills and aquatic games. The goal of this course is to provide students with opportunities to gain knowledge and skills for implementing a quality water safety education course or lesson(s).
