Catalog description

Designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge needed for teaching an elementary physical education curriculum in K-12 public schools. In this course, students will a) engage in a developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessments, b) experience best instructional practices, and c) utilize pedagogical content knowledge to plan and implement teaching different segments within elementary physical education lessons. Activities include locomotors, manipulatives, dance, and gymnastics movements and games. The goal of this course is to provide students with opportunities to gain knowledge and skills for implementing a quality elementary physical education course or lesson(s).
