Catalog description

An examination of typical and atypical development across all developmental domains, from gestation through eighteen years. Physical growth, emotional and social development, and cognitive functioning will be examined. Influences of ethnicity, culture, social class, economic standing, regionalism, as well as family practices and parenting will be considered. Students will examine theories of child development, review research, virtually observe children in various developmental periods, and read extensively to further their understanding of human growth and development across physical, cognitive, social, and emotional domains.
