Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth exploration of behavior assessment and behavior change procedures grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Students will develop competencies in selecting, conducting, and interpreting a variety of assessment methods, including indirect, descriptive, and functional analyses, to identify the environmental variables influencing behavior. Emphasis is placed on operationally defining behavior, analyzing data, and formulating hypotheses to guide ethical and culturally responsive intervention planning. Building on assessment outcomes, students will learn to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions that are conceptually systematic and functionally aligned. The course emphasizes the integration of assessment and intervention practices, data-based decision-making, and collaboration with stakeholders.
