Catalog description

This course is designed to prepare students to support middle and high school aged students with disabilities in special education classrooms and regular education classrooms. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the diverse roles of secondary special education teachers including: (a) co-teaching, (b) supporting students with disabilities in general education classrooms, (c) adapting materials for general education teachers, and (d) managing a special education caseload. This course also includes a field experience component in which students will be placed in a secondary learning support environment.
