Catalog description
This lab course explores fundamental biochemical techniques and experimental strategies and provides hands-on practice with laboratory equipment. The course topics cover in-depth experimental procedures that are commonplace in academic and industrial biochemistry labs. Core topics include the isolation, quantification, and characterization of proteins, nucleic acids, and enzymes. Through both guided and independent research projects, students will strengthen critical thinking skills and scientific writing in the context of biochemistry.
