This course is designed to help teacher candidates extend knowledge of core aspects of reading development and explore instructional methods related to fluent reading, vocabulary acquisition, comprehension, and writing. Students practice implementation of systematic, explicit instruction as they increase understanding of the reciprocal processes of reading and writing.
