This is an introductory course to the structure and properties of materials. Subjects include the processing of materials, crystal structures, miller indices, compositions, alloying, electrical properties, phase diagrams, corrosion, diffusion, heat treating, inspection, and testing of materials utilized in the field of mechanical engineering. Prerequisite: MECH2500 or MECH2400 (4 credits) summer
