Catalog description

This course introduces partial differential equations (PDE), which model phenomena involving change in multiple dimensions, and methods for solving them. Students learn different techniques such as the method of characteristics, separation of variables, Fourier series, Fourier transforms, and numerical approximation by finite differences. Prerequisite: MATH2500 or MATH2600 or MATH2750 (4 credits) fall
