For many firms, IT is the largest capital investment of the capital expenditure in an organization. It is critical that executives of every function understand key components of technology in order to be successful in organizations. This course examines the impact of telecommunications technology on facility planning and management. Topics include the design and implementation of voice and data communication networks, client service applications, and business communications systems for enhancing collaborative work. Included is a study of the availability, capabilities, analysis, selection, justification, acquisition, installation, operation, and maintenance of computerized systems designed to enhance facilities management.
