CREATIVE CODING
Wentworth Institute of Technology · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course introduces the fundamentals of creative coding through programming languages and creative computing environments. Students learn core programming principles while developing interactive projects that engage with music, imagery, sensors, and external inputs. Through weekly exercises, they explore 2D and 3D geometries, motion, color, and sound to create dynamic visual compositions. Topics include variables, conditionals, loops, functions, and data structures, leading to projects that translate code into expressive and responsive systems. By the end of the course, students create interactive visual games, experiences, and/or interactive data visualizations using computational thinking and code as a design tool. (4 credits) fall
