Catalog description

This course explores how artificial intelligence is changing the way construction professionals plan, estimate, coordinate, and deliver construction projects. The course combines fundamentals with hands-on applications, ranging from utilizing large language models and computer vision to developing AI-assisted workflows that integrate with building information modeling and virtual design and construction. Students develop critical judgment and accountability, learning to test, critique, and improve AI outputs rather than accept them at face value. Through a series of labs and projects, students produce industry-standard deliverables, including requests for information, takeoffs, look-ahead schedules, methods, and AI use cases. (4 credit) fall
