Catalog description
This course offers an in-depth study of secure multi-party computation (MPC), a cryptographic paradigm that enables mutually distrustful parties to jointly compute functions on private data without compromising confidentiality. Students explore the theoretical foundations of MPC, including security definitions, protocol design, adversarial models, and efficiency trade-offs, while also reviewing recent advancements from the research community. Complementing the theory, the course includes hands-on implementation and system evaluation exercises to build practical expertise. By the end of the course, students are equipped to analyze state-of-the-art MPC protocols and develop secure computation solutions for emerging real-world applications. (3 credits) fall
