This graduate-level course offers an in-depth exploration of natural language processing (NLP), a multidisciplinary field focused on the automated understanding and generation of human language. Students study core principles and advanced techniques while gaining practical experience with tools for text analysis, machine translation, and speech processing. The course emphasizes research-driven learning, encouraging students to investigate advanced topics such as named entity recognition, topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and processing for low-resource languages.
