MUSC 6650 is taken in the semester when a graduate student presents their Graduate Recital. This zero-credit course accounts for the additional work required for recital preparation, including score preparation, rehearsals with performers, program notes, a recital hearing, dress rehearsal, and the final public performance. Graduate students in performance degrees are required to prepare a minimum of 50 minutes of music for their recital; students in composition degrees must prepare at least 40 minutes of music. Specific details about repertoire requirements, recital scheduling and approval, and other logistics are outlined in the Department of Music Handbook. Prerequisite : Graduate standing.
