This course explores the intersection of learning sciences and artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on how advancements in AI can enhance our understanding of learning processes and outcomes. Students will examine critical theories and principles of learning sciences, emphasizing cognitive, social, and emotional dimensions of learning, and apply these principles in AI-supported environments. A significant focus is placed on adult learning, examining how AI tools can be tailored to support the unique needs of adult learners in both formal and informal education settings. Through case studies, research analysis, and practical applications, students will gain insight into designing AI-driven learner-centered experiences that optimize engagement, motivation, and knowledge retention.
