Catalog description

This course, the second in a series of pharmacology courses, specifically addresses intravenous anesthetic agents. Pharmacology II provides a more nuanced examination of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics sedative/hypnotic agents, muscle relaxants and adjuvant drugs used in anesthesia. The scope of pharmacology is widened to include the effects of anesthetic drugs on the nervous system. The autonomic, sympathetic, parasympathetic and central nervous systems will be thoroughly examined. Prerequisite : DNAP 7900.
