Catalog description
This intermediate class provides students with an in-depth study of classical ballet variations and repertoire. Students develop both technical proficiency and artistic expression through barre and center exercises focused on alignment, coordination, musicality, and phrasing. The course emphasizes the performance of variations from a range of classical ballets, integrating an understanding of the historical context and methodology. Students explore both the technical and expressive elements required to perform repertoire with clarity and artistry. May be repeated for credit. Prerequisite : DANC 2020 or permission of the instructor.
