Data Analytics Foundations for Business Analytics

Catalog description
This course provides a foundational introduction to business analytics, emphasizing the use of data, descriptive, predictive, and decision support models to inform business decisions. Students explore how organizational data is developed, prepared, and analyzed to support fact based management and business insight. The course illustrates the application of core data analytics techniques to real world business decision making scenarios, including descriptive analysis, visualization, correlation and regression analysis, time series forecasting, and decision making under uncertainty. Students gain hands-on experience using industry standard tools including Microsoft Excel®, Solver for Decision Analysis, Power Query, Power Pivot, and DAX to clean and transform data, build analytical models, create professional data visualizations, and support data-driven recommendations. Prerequisite : BUSN 5760.
