This course provides an experiential and conceptual introduction to the field of Art Therapy and its intersections with contemporary psychology and expressive arts therapies. Students will learn about the theoretical and practical foundations of art therapy, exploring the creative process, material use, and clinical reasoning in therapeutic contexts. Emphasis is placed on the role of art as a tool for self-exploration, communication, and healing. Through studio-based work, readings, and discussions, students will engage as makers and future clinicians, gaining appreciation for personal symbolism and the transformative potential of art in wellness practices.
