Catalog description

Studies visual culture, including the arts empirically and analytically as a reflection of social behavior, phenomena, groups, and environments. Explores image-making as an intersecting artistic and sociocultural practice to challenge dominant narratives about marginalized political, class, ethnic and gender identities, environmental and labor conditions, and social justice. Draws from documentaries, journalism, and the arts. Course overlaps with: ART 365.
