Catalog description
Covers "classical" cryptosystems and their cryptoanalysis, Shannon's approach to cryptography including entropy and perfect secrecy, block ciphers and AES. Contains RSA cryptosystem, public key cryptography based on discrete logarithms, and signature schemes. Breaks simple ciphers using a computer. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 2.0 in either TCSS 321, TMATH 300, or TMATH 308.
