Investigates knowledge from humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, to prepare students for advanced coursework in environmental studies. Applies insights to actual environmental problems and situations at scales from local to global. Serves as the required core course for the Environmental Sustainability major. Each environmental problem is examined through the lens of ethics, institutions, economics, power, and science. Course overlaps with: BIS 246.
