Catalog description
Explores system representation, feedback characteristics, and time-domain characteristics. Studies classical control theories including Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion, root locus, Nyquist criterion, Bode plots and Nichols charts. Introduces controller digitization, z-transform, and state-space approach. Provides experience using computers to implement Proportional-Integral-Derivative controllers to control motors and other physical actuators. Course overlaps with: E E 447. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 2.0 in TCES 310; and a minimum grade of 2.0 in either TMATH 208 or MATH 208.
