Catalog description

Introduces the fundamentals of distributed energy system, renewable energy sources and give details of their conversion into electricity. Students will gain detailed knowledge of the engineering challenges of sustainable energy production and a wider understanding of energy in a societal context. Basic concepts and structures of micro-grid, smart grid, and recent development in such emerging technologies. Course overlaps with: M E 430; B EE 381/BST 381; B EE 479; and B ME 446. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 2.0 in TEE 317.
