Psychopharmacology

Catalog description

Introduces physiological and synaptic mechanisms by which psychotropic medications are used for treatment of mental health. Topics include: research methods of pharmacology, neural communication, synaptic mechanisms of drug actions, and critical analysis of social concerns of psychopharmacological agents. Course overlaps with: NEUSCI 404. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 2.0 in either TPSYCH 101 or PSYCH 101; and either T BIOL 140 or TPSYCH 260/T BIOL 260. Offered: jointly with TPSYCH 361.
