Introduces students to the history and evolution of American musical theater, focusing on the American musical and its most significant writers, composers, lyricists, directors, choreographers and performers. Develops fundamental skills in musical theater performance, with practical application of acting, singing, and movement techniques. Course overlaps with: DRAMA 171 and MUSIC 161.
