Catalog description

Methods and theory for numerically approximating functions, their integrals and derivatives, and solutions to ODEs. Topics include polynomial and piecewise polynomial interpolation, the Fourier transform, numerical differentiation and integration, and approximate solution of ODEs using Euler and Runge-Kutta methods. Course overlaps with: CSS 455. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 2.0 in STMATH 207; and a minimum grade of 2.0 in STMATH 405.
