Fundamentals of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to keep buildings comfortable and healthy for their occupants while minimizing environmental impact. Topics include: properties of air-water mixtures; combustion, refrigeration cycles, heating and cooling load calculations, HVAC equipment, and design of HVAC systems for sustainable buildings. Course overlaps with: M E 425; TME 425; and TME 435. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 2.5 in B ME 333. Offered: AWSp.
