Catalog description

Advanced interdisciplinary study of race and ethnicity in a U.S. context. Examines the relationship between historical experiences and cultural expressions of racialized communities in the US. Focuses on examples of how social and cultural practices engage and transform racial formations and their intersections, confront structures of power, and further struggles for social justice. Prerequisite: either B EDUC 255/BIS 255, BIS 256, BIS 257, BIS 258, or BISAES 305.
