Catalog description

Engages post-colonial texts and critical artworks that will help to inform, stimulate and complicate the dialogue on contemporary Islamic art. Studies ways in which "Muslim" artists have applied multiple lenses to their performance practices and in what specific ways these artists respond to crisis and other social issues. Interrogates the specific use of the "Muslim" label as an identifier.
