Catalog description
The first course of a two-sequence capstone design course where students work on real-world multidisciplinary engineering projects to design a system, component, or process with specific realistic design constraints such as cost, engineering standards, and social impact. In this first course, students are expected to define and formulate the design problem, study alternative solutions, and develop a design plan and methodology. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 1.7 in either B ENGR 494 or B ME 494; a minimum grade of 1.7 in either B EE 332 or B ME 333, or a minimum grade of 2.0 in CSS 360; and a minimum grade of 1.7 in either B EE 425 or B ME 343.
