Catalog description

The course provides in-depth coverage of the power electronics of a range of renewable technologies including solar, wind and hydroelectric. The power electronics for energy storage technologies utilized in renewable systems and for electric transportation systems are addressed. The course covers recent advances of control and management architectures and discusses them in the context of current renewable energy technologies. Course overlaps with: TECE 533 and TECE 539. Recommended: degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
