Introduction to power electronics. Topics covered include characterization of power semiconductor devices, design of magnetic components and filters, analysis and design of ac-to-dc, dc-to-dc and dc-to-ac power converters. Applications in power supplies are presented. Theoretical concepts and analyses are augmented by simulations and lab projects. Course overlaps with: TECE 539.
