Catalog description

Focuses on the allocation and pricing of risk, analyzing what motivates economic agents to trade, how they manage risky endowments, and how financial assets are used for investment decisions to hedge risk. Includes analysis of how insurance premiums, stocks, bonds, and option prices are determined. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 1.7 in B BECN 302; recommended: calculus, linear algebra, as well as familiarity with Excel. Offered: jointly with B BECN 458.
