Catalog description

The course provides an intensive, hands-on introduction to Data Management that involves the acquisition, transformation, manipulation, visualization and the analysis of data in a computing environment that fosters collaboration. The data manipulation and analysis will be implemented by writing programs in a discipline-specific statistical software. Course overlaps with: CSSS 321/SOC 321/STAT 321/POL S 391 and STAT 302. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 1.7 in either B BUS 215, BIS 215, or STAT 220.
