Conducting Field Research Using the Interactional Approach to Wildfire Adaptation: <br/> The student will learn how to conduct field research using the Interactional Approach to Wildfire Adaptation developed by Travis Paveglio. Learning the Interactional Approach will consist of understanding foundational concepts such as ‘community field theory’ and ‘grounded theory’ through an exploration of written works by Wilkinson and Glaser & Strauss.

Community Engaged Scholarship Experience: <br/> This course serves as the capstone to students' learning and participation in the Community Engagement in Science and Decision-making Certificate. Building on the Community Engagement Plan developed in the certificate's core course (CE 543 [Pullman] & Bio 589 [Vancouver]), students in this course will carry out this developed plan as part of the student's thesis, dissertation, or other separate project-related work.
