Catalog description

This course focuses on the neuromuscular/skeletal anatomy of the extremities, spine, and facial areas of the human body and the normal kinematics of these structures. Detailed considerations are given to origin, insertion, nervous innervation, nervous and arterial supply to the muscles of the human extremities, trunk, and face. This course also emphasizes the basic kinesiological principles describing the science of joint motion and muscle action in the human body as well as normal aspects of posture and gait. Students will be introduced to the basic concepts and application of objective measurement techniques including goniometry and manual muscle testing.
