INTRO PHYSICAL THERAPY

Catalog description

This course introduces the student to the history of the physical therapy profession and the physical therapist assistant. Students will learn about the role of the physical therapist assistant as a member of the healthcare team, working under the direction and supervision of the phsyical therapist. Students will be introduced to clinical practice settings, practice areas, and physical therapy assessment and treatment methods. Other topics include ethics and professionalism, laws and regulations, communication, documentation, reimbursement, research, and current trends in delivery of care.
