Catalog description

In this laboratory course, students perform experiments in both optics and modern physics. In optics experiments, students use lens and mirror systems and spectrometers to investigate phenomena in physical and geometric optics. Modern physics experiments include measurements of fundamental constants, and techniques of nuclear spectroscopy. The course includes three laboratory hours per week. Prerequisites: PS 383 or concurrent enrollment.
