Mental Health Nursing with Practicum

Catalog description

This hybrid course prepares the professional nurse to provide safe, effective care for the client experiencing mental illness. Utilizing evidence-based principles to establish a foundation for safe and effective care for all, the professional nurse will examine safe medication administration, nutritional principles, and legal and ethical issues related to the client with a mental health concern or substance use issue, across the lifespan. The clinical component will allow the student the opportunity to practice theoretical knowledge in a clinical setting. Prerequisites: Admission to ADN program or permission of Program Director.
