Catalog description

Instruction of introductory keyboard skills in sight reading, transposition, score reading, harmonization, playing by ear, and improvisation. Incorporates music theory elements utilizing diatonic harmonies, nonharmonic tones, and basic tonicization and modulation. Introduces the performance of orchestral reductions and three-part scores. Prerequisites: MU 314 Music Theory II and MU 311 Aural Skills II Prerequisites/Corequisites: Piano or Organ Emphasis Only.
