Catalog description

A comprehensive study of pedagogical techniques and literature specifically designed for instrumental students majoring in music performance. The curriculum encompasses a wide range of topics, including historical research on instruments and composers, diverse styles and levels of literature, etudes and technical studies, skill development, tone production, embouchure, performance strategies, instrument care and repair, and other essential aspects of playing and teaching. This course is structured for students whose performance concentration is in one of the following areas: woodwinds, brass, and strings instruments. Required for instrumental performance majors Prerequisites: None Prerequisites/Corequisites: Woodwind, Brass, Strings, Guitar emphasis
