Catalog description
Study of music notation, scales, intervals, rhythm, meter, triads, seventh chords, figured bass, and Roman numerals, with an introduction to part-writing, harmonic progressions, cadences, and basic non-harmonic tones. Prerequisites: music major, music minor, or musical theatre concentration status. Corequisite: MU 217 or consent of instructor. Prerequisites/Corequisites: Pass music theory entrance exam or MU 120 .
