Catalog description
This course focuses on mathematical skills and knowledge required for quantitative literacy: basic logical reasoning, understanding numerical relationships, financial mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical communication, and/or topics related to current events. There is no prerequisite for this course. Students who do not meet one of the Kansas Board of Regents placement measures must enroll in a section with additional co-requisite support. The placement measures are as follows: Math ACT: 19 or higher OR Math SAT: 510 or higher OR ALEKS PPL: 30 or higher OR Accuplacer QAS: 255 or higher OR GED® Math Score: 160 or higher OR HS GPA and Course Grade: 3.00 cumulative GPA (unweighted) and C- or higher in Second Semester Algebra 2 or Integrated Math 3 OR Washburn University MA 112 or MA 113 Placement Exam Score of 50% or higher
