Catalog description

This course is designed for Respiratory Therapy students and aims to familiarize them with the general classification of drugs, their mechanisms of action, indications, contraindications, and major adverse effects. Principles of drug administration and pharmacokinetics are also presented. The course will comprehensively cover most classifications of medications; however, specific attention will be devoted to the growing field of medications used in respiratory therapy. Prerequisites: Admission in the Respiratory Therapy program.
