Section information text: One of the primary focuses of social work is to promote social justice within a diverse society. This course focuses on traditional and contemporary clinical social work theories in providing culturally and contextually relevant services to individuals and families. Students will examine social work theories in a way that informs clinical practice and discuss the role of the social worker in reducing social stress. Existing practices and policies will be challenged with the goal of designing and implementing more effective policies and practices that positively impact the individual, the community, and society at large.
