Catalog description

Section information text: This course focuses on the unique challenges of wartime and postwar combat trauma, crisis, and stress, as well as the responses of military personnel. Students in this course will develop an understanding of the short-term and long-term impact of traumatic experiences and vicarious trauma and develop skills to address symptoms and manifestations of these experiences. As a result of learning in this course, students will be better prepared to apply social work skills, provide resources to military clients, and administer mental health support in response to trauma, crisis, and stress.
