Catalog description

Section information text: This course provides students with a detailed examination of the use of telehealth technologies to transform the delivery of social work and improve access to mental health care. Through the lens of diversity and client-centeredness, students explore the history and future possibilities of telehealth in social work. Students analyze policy, regulation, and ethics in the virtual environment. As future social workers, they consider how to adapt their skills to telehealth and devise strategies to troubleshoot technology, assess risk, and develop the therapeutic alliance virtually. They then apply these strategies through a sequence of simulations with a telehealth client.
