Section information text: **SOCI 1001P is only available for students in the RN-MSN program** Students in this course have the opportunity to think critically about society and their own lives from a wide range of classical and contemporary perspectives. They explore and apply major theoretical perspectives to evaluate chosen social issues, consider the concept of self in relation to global perspectives, and examine the influence of social norms and social institutions on individual and group behavior. Through their study of sociology, students sharpen their critical-thinking skills and develop a sociological imagination, which they can use throughout their personal and professional lives to understand the complex nature of social structure and social change.
